Sign up to test habitat types for built environment

Would you like to help develop new tools for assessing biodiversity in the built environment?

In March, the ARVO and BOOST projects published a draft classification of habitat types in the built environment and criteria for assessing ecological status. These materials were produced in close collaboration with experts during the winter of 2024–2025. In the summer of 2025, the classification will be tested in the field, and development work will continue in the fall. The final descriptions of habitat types in the built environment and status indicators are expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Now you have the opportunity to get involved in the development work, as we are looking for testers who want to try out the interpretation guidelines for the status indicators and provide feedback. You will receive the instructions currently in development and have the opportunity to influence their finalization. We hope to complete the testing by September 15, 2025.

Who is it for? The testing is open to anyone who works with the built environment, such as consultants who conduct nature surveys.

Interested? Sign up to become a tester by filling in the necessary information and accepting the terms of use on the form: https://link.webropol.com/s/arvo-boost-ryty-maasto-ohje
